Astronomers Reported The Very First Image Of A Baby Planet Being Formed

Astronomers have said that they have captured the first confirmed image of the baby planet formed in the dust, roaming around a young star. A few days back, Scientists said that the planet appears as a bright spot in the photograph using the Very Large Telescope of the European Southern Observatory in Chile.

From Max Planck Institute of Astronomy in Germany, Miriam Kepler said that signs of infant planets were detected earlier, but astronomers were not sure whether they could easily be observed in winding dust.

“These disks around young stars are the birthplaces of planets, but so far only a handful of observations have detected hints of baby planets in them,” Miriam Keppler said in a statement. “The problem is that, until now, most of these planet candidates could just have been features in the disk.”
Scientists have described the planet located about 3 billion kilometers (1.86 billion miles) from star PDS 70, which is a gigantic gas roughly two-three times bigger than Jupiter; about the distance of Uranus from the sun, according to the paper published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics.

Scientists claimed that it has a foggy surrounding and a surface temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit).
