Tom Cruise Tweets Picture From Sets Of Top Gun Sequel

Tom Cruise is still feeling the need for speed as Maverick even after 32 years since mega-hit of 80’s, Top Gun.

Tom Cruise makes his return on the flight line for the sequel of the 1986 film Top Gun.

The movie set is often closed tight and secured. It’s mandatory for actors and crew to sign non-disclosure agreements. This may be true with Maverick, but photos are out on social media anyway.

On Thursday, the actor tweeted a photo of himself as Navy pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in a flight suit, looking at a fighter jet. The photos accompany the phrase “feel the need.” In the first part of the film, Cruise’s character was revolving around, he feels the need for speed.

Cruise wrote #Day 1 of production of Top Gun: Maverick.

Some of the pics are of course approved like an Instagram slideshow posted to Luke Scott’s account. As Scott is a screenwriter of the movie, Ridley Scott’s son and late Top Gun director Tony Scott’s nephew, seems like he’s not much worried about allowing the fans of the movie (and of Tom Cruise, for that matter) having a little sneak peek behind the scenes.

Photos of Scott are best too. It features Cruise in full Maverick mode with old and new jets, apparently thrilled to head back into the danger zone.

Some of the Twitter accounts have managed to capture their own snaps as well. Not that close and personal, but still interesting and possibly telling — seems like the production is fully underway and Tom Cruise is in character.

The story of Maverick is still under wraps, but it involves drones (lazy people; idler) and the son of Goose — Maverick’s hopeless partner from the first movie — and men in green flight suits.

Top Gun is set to hit the theaters on June 26, 2020.
