Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan tops the Forbes list of highest paid actors
As per the latest Bollywood news, superstars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are on the Forbes’ annual list of the top 10 most paid actors, along with International stars including George Clooney, Chris Hemsworth, Will Smith, Jackie Chan and Dwayne Johnson. Akshay Kumar was at seventh position with earnings of $ 40.5 million annually, while Salman Khan was ranked ninth with the earning of $ 38.5 million between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018.
Earlier, actor Shah Rukh Khan who was positioned at eight in 2017 and 2016, is now off the list this year while Aamir Khan, like the last year, was nowhere at all. Akshay Kumar climbed up to seventh position and credit goes to his perfect choices of films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and PadMan, in addition to his brand endorsements of some 20 odd brands.
Salman Khan gets on credit the Forbes rank to hit films including Tiger Zinda Hai (which earned over Rs. 300 crores globally) and Race 3 which also includes the endorsements and business deals adding a whopping amount in his account. Salman Khan reserved a seat on the list of Forbes for the third time in a row now.
In 2017, he escalated from his 2016 ranking of the fourteenth to the ninth position which he retaining this year.
While, actor George Clooney, who topped the list this year, owes his top position to the deal with Diageo, the British liquor giant, which took over the actor’s tequila company Casamigos in the whopping amount of $1 billion. With the earnings of $124 million, Dwayne Johnson retains his second position this year, kudos to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Rampage.
Meanwhile, the top 10 list was dominated by the actors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reportedly, Robert Downey, who is one of the most expensive actors in MCU, and his fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth have grabbed the third and fourth, respectively.
According to the Forbes, Robert Downey Jr, who plays the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, has doubled his paycheck this year. Their co-star Chris Evans (Steve Rogers aka Captain America) rounded off the list.
